Copied from Flymail:
Saturday I was impatient and had a
sledder before everything heated up. Went back to the top for
another hour and a half ridge flight.
Sunday was truly epic for me. I launched early (around 11) with the
intention of taking a sledder and getting back up to the top before
things got good. Once I was up, I didn't feel like coming down until
the sun was behind the ridge. It was 8 o'clock and getting dark when
I landed. My flight was 8 hours and 44 minutes long.
Since I was not expecting to be up for long, I brought no food, no
water, no radio, and no gloves. My body and soul was nourished by
the wonderful scenery of the Sequatchie valley and my love of
flight. It will be one I will remember for the rest of my life.
Bob Belshan was up with me for about 6.5 hours. We didn't' leave
Dunlap until 9:30pm. It was a long 5 hour drive home to Memphis.
Funny, this was the first weekend my airtime:driving time ratio was
actually greater than 1!
See you in the air-
Jeff
